Elowen is a personal home improvement assistant app. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and what controls you have over it.
During onboarding, Elowen asks five optional questions to personalize your experience:
These preferences are stored only on your device using Apple's standard local storage. They are not sent to any server until you start a conversation, at which point they are included as context with your message so Elowen can give you relevant answers.
When you send a message, it is transmitted to the MCP server you configure in the app's Server Settings. Elowen does not operate a central server — you connect to your own infrastructure. The developer has no access to your conversations.
Before any message is sent, Elowen's on-device privacy filter scans it for personal information such as names, addresses, and phone numbers. Depending on what is detected:
This scanning happens entirely on your device, before any network request is made.
If you attach a photo to a message, it is sent to your configured MCP server alongside your text. Elowen accesses your photo library only when you explicitly tap the attachment button — it does not scan or index your photos in the background.
The developer does not collect, store, or have access to:
Apple may collect certain diagnostic and usage data as part of the App Store and TestFlight platforms. This is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy, not this one.
Elowen is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this URL with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
